The Eyes Have It January 2015
6 Tips for Brighter Eyes
With winter comes dehydration. The first signs of water loss often show up around our eyes. The number one area I’m asked about as an aesthetician at Signature Salon & Spa is the eye area. Puffiness, dark circles, fine lines and wrinkles…What can we do about them? Below are some of my top tips for eye care.
- Make sure you are removing your eye makeup with the perfect product for your skin. We love glotherapeutics Gentle Eye Makeup Remover with aloe and lavender to calm, soothe and hydrate.
- If you have extreme eye area sensitivity, try our Amrit Organic Eye Makeup Remover which will melt even the most stubborn mascara without any irritation on an already overly sensitized, dry eye area. Follow with Amrit Organic Beautiful Eyes which comes in an easy roller ball applicator. Just roll a small amount under the eyes and massage inward. Chamomile calms and renews, while aloe soothes and hydrates. Both products are not only safe for eczema, but work as an excellent treatment for dry irritated skin.
- Improve the appearance of fine lines and darkening around the eye area with glotherapeutics 7.5% Vitamin C Eye Gel followed by an eye cream recommended by your Signature Salon & Spa aesthetician.
- Certain eye creams can be too heavy for nighttime causing more puffiness. Save the eye cream for day and use a lightweight serum or gel overnight instead. Glotherapeutics Eye Fix is a fantastic eye gel with essential oils of rosemary, lavender and peppermint that soothe and tone the under eye.
- Sleep propped up with an extra pillow so fluids can drain properly.
- In addition to your eye cream, keep used teabags (green or white tea work and are my favorites) in the refrigerator for an instant cooling treatment.
