Tips on How to Look and Feel Your Best This Season

The days are longer and the sun is shining! Summer is finally here, and we’re more excited than ever before. Stay Hydrated

Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! Don’t forget to drink plenty of H2O before, during, and after spending time outside this summer.  Water should be with you at all times and readily accessible. Between the increase in perspiration and the sizzling rays, we tend to lose more water when the weather is warmer. Water will not only keep your body hydrated, but your skin hydrated too!

Wax Those Stubborn Body Parts for a Hassle-Free Summer

Having smooth skin is definitely a must during the hottest months, and the best way to remove unwanted hair should be done by waxing. Whether it’s a Brazilian or an underarm wax, you won’t have any regrets when it comes to not having to shave stubborn body hair anymore. Proper Hair Care for Summer 

Our hair needs summer lovin’ too! Now is the time to stock up on your favorite heat protecting spray — be sure it helps against the sun’s harmful rays as well. Since most of us spend a lot of time outside, the heat and sun can dry out your hair. Limit your use of curling irons and straighteners, and also use a conditioning treatment to help keep your hair from drying out. Protect Your Face and Hair

The humidity can be a total buzz-kill sometimes for those with curly or wavy hair, so applying a good frizz-fighting product will help tame those uncontrollable tresses. Wearing some flirty braids, or wrapping your hair in a bun or twist, can help protect your hair from the sun, or you could even wear a cute summer hat to protect your hair and face from the damaging rays.

Protect Your Skin

There are number of skin regimens you can do to help protect your skin and ensure it looks its very best during the summer months.

Use sunscreen. Though it’s recommended to be worn all year round, sunscreen is especially important to be worn during the summer months.  Always apply a minimum of SPF 30 and be sure to re-apply every two hours. It’s also important to apply sunscreen to every exposed area of your body, including hands, lips and ears!

Exfoliate. While exfoliating regularly throughout the year is important, it’s very effective during the summer months. With most of your skin on display during the warm months, having smooth skin is achievable when you exfoliate.

Keep skin cool. Avoid the inevitable “heat rash” this summer by keeping your skin cool. Carry a small misting bottle with cool water to spritz on yourself whenever you are feeling too warm. And, don’t forget to let your body refresh and replenish! After spending time in the sun, give your skin some time for recovery in the shade.

Wear Minimal Makeup

Keeping makeup at a minimum will not only make you feel more comfortable, it’ll give you less to worry about. Using a tinted moisturizer is a great alternative to wearing makeup. Tinted moisturizers offer light coverage and typically have a minimum of SPF 15, making it the perfect choice for the no-makeup makeup days.

Choosing a cheek tint instead of a powder is also a great alternative to wearing heavy makeup. Cheek tints last longer and wear better when wet.  Also try skipping the liner and opting for longer lashes. Less makeup, and longer lashes with a splash of tint will give you a beautiful, fresher look this summer.
